L. D. Arts College, Ahmedabad organised a One-Day Workshop titled “Fundamentals of Research Methodology, Application of Statistical Tools and Use of Computers in Social Sciences Research” on 22 January 2026 at the college campus.
The workshop began with participant registration followed by a prayer and ceremonial lamp lighting. Dr. Vandana Maurya delivered the welcome address and formally welcomed the dignitaries, faculty members, and participants. Dr. M. D. Chavda, Principal of L. D. Arts College, presided over the inaugural session, while Dr. Sriram Nerlekar, Director, AES, attended as the Guest of Honour.
In his keynote address, Dr. Sriram Nerlekar emphasised the importance of research methodology, ethical research practices, and the growing relevance of empirical tools in social sciences research. Dr. M. D. Chavda highlighted the objectives of the workshop and encouraged students and researchers to adopt interdisciplinary and technology-based research approaches.
The technical sessions commenced with Technical Session-I on “How to Prepare a Research Paper”, conducted by Dr. Ashwin Jansari, where participants were guided on academic writing, structuring research papers, and publication ethics.
Technical Session-II, led by Dr. Paresh Prajapati, focused on the use of statistics in social sciences research, explaining the practical application of statistical concepts in research analysis.
Post-lunch, Technical Session-III on “Innovation Research Tools” was delivered by Ms. Vidhi Bhavsar, who introduced participants to modern research tools and innovative techniques.
The final session, Technical Session-IV, was conducted by Dr. Priyarajan Maral on the use of computer-based statistical software in social sciences research, providing hands-on insights into software-assisted data analysis.
The workshop concluded with a valedictory session, participant feedback, and certificate distribution. Faculty members, research scholars, and students actively participated and appreciated the academic relevance of the workshop.
