The NSS Unit of L. D. Arts College organised an educational visit to the Red Cross Society, Ahmedabad, on 12 July 2025. More than 35 NSS volunteers participated in the visit under the guidance of Programme Officer Dr. N. P. Verma.

During the visit, volunteers were introduced to artificial limbs, including artificial hands and legs, and were explained their functioning and use. They also visited different sections and offices of the organisation and learned about the working of various machines and equipment used there.

The volunteers further visited an old age home, where they gained an insight into the challenges faced by elderly people who are left without family support. This experience deepened their understanding of social responsibility and the importance of care for the elderly.

A practical demonstration on CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) was also conducted, allowing the volunteers to understand and practise basic life-saving techniques. The visit was an informative and meaningful experience that promoted social awareness, empathy and a spirit of service among the volunteers.
