Lieutenant Dr. Vinod Meena, serving as an NCC Officer in the 1 Gujarat Armed NCC Squadron and as a Professor of Economics at L.D. Arts College, has been honored with the prestigious “Commendation Card” Award by the Government of India (Ministry of Defence, New Delhi) for the year 2024–25 as the Best NCC Officer.
He has been selected for this award in recognition of his commendable and outstanding performance in NCC. The award includes a cash prize of ₹2,500/-, a commendation medal, and a certificate of appreciation.
Upon receiving this news, a wave of joy and enthusiasm spread across the entire 1 Gujarat Armed NCC Squadron, the L.D. Arts College family, and among his NCC cadets. Dr. Vinod Meena is the only NCC officer from Gujarat to be selected at the national level for this award — a matter of pride for Gujarat and for all NCC cadets.

The DG NCC Commendation Card is awarded to full-time NCC officers and ANOs for their outstanding and selfless contribution in the fields of national service, sports, youth training, and socio-cultural activities.
