As a part of the NSS Day Celebration 2026, a Mega Blood Donation Camp was organised at L. D. Arts College with great enthusiasm and active participation from NSS volunteers. The camp was conducted in the true spirit of the NSS motto “Not Me But You” and encouraged students to contribute towards the welfare of society through voluntary blood donation.
More than 70 NSS volunteers came forward and filled out the necessary forms for blood donation. After the required eligibility and health screening, 23 or more volunteers successfully donated blood and contributed to this noble cause.
A significant number of volunteers could not donate after the screening, as they did not meet the required eligibility criteria, including age and weight requirements or certain medical and haemoglobin-related conditions. Many of the female volunteers were found to have lower haemoglobin levels and were therefore advised not to donate. Although they could not donate blood, their willingness to participate and contribute to the cause was equally appreciated.
The blood donation camp created an atmosphere of service, enthusiasm and collective responsibility among the students. The volunteers demonstrated that NSS is not only about participation in activities but also about developing a spirit of compassion and willingness to serve society. The NSS Day celebration was filled with excitement, happiness and joy, and the day concluded on a positive note with a strong sense of satisfaction among the volunteers.
