An NSS visit to Suvarnasandhya Vriddhashram, Badarkha, Ahmedabad was organised from 14 to 15 September 2026, with the participation of 50 NSS volunteers under the guidance of Dr. N. P. Verma. The visit was organised with the aim of spending meaningful time with the elderly residents and understanding their experiences, emotions and perspectives.
During the visit, the volunteers interacted with the elderly residents and had conversations about their lives, experiences and memories. These interactions created a warm and friendly atmosphere and gave the volunteers an opportunity to learn the importance of respect, compassion, patience and emotional support.
The volunteers also organised various cultural activities for the residents. Bhajans were performed, followed by a lively Garba session in which the volunteers participated with enthusiasm. The cultural evening brought happiness and energy to the Vriddhashram. The volunteers also spent the night there, which allowed them to experience the daily environment of the residents more closely.
The two-day visit was a meaningful and enriching experience for all 50 volunteers. It strengthened the values of seva, empathy, social responsibility and human connection, which are central to the spirit of NSS. The guidance of Dr. N. P. Verma and the enthusiastic participation of the volunteers made the visit memorable and impactful.
