The Library Committee, L. D. Arts College, organized an educational visit to the Gujarat University Library on 12th September 2025 for the students. The objective of this visit was to provide students with exposure to advanced library facilities, extensive academic resources, and modern research support systems available at a premier institution.

The visit commenced at 10:30 AM, as per the schedule, and was facilitated with the kind support and consent of the Gujarat University Library authorities. Upon arrival, the students were warmly welcomed by the library staff and briefed about the history, significance, and functioning of the Gujarat University Library.

Students were introduced to the various sections of the library, including:

  • The General Collection, housing a wide range of academic books, journals, and reference material.
  • The Research and Reference Section, offering access to rare books, research theses, and scholarly publications.
  • The Digital Resources Unit, where students explored e-resources, databases, and online journals.
  • The Periodicals Section, featuring national and international journals and magazines.

The library staff provided detailed demonstrations of the digital cataloguing system and explained how students can effectively use electronic databases for academic and research purposes. Special emphasis was placed on the importance of cultivating reading habits, accessing authentic resources, and developing strong research skills.

The visit proved to be a highly educational and enriching experience for the students, broadening their academic horizons beyond classroom learning. The students expressed great enthusiasm and actively engaged with the staff by asking questions related to research resources, reference management, and digital access.

The programme was successfully coordinated under the leadership of Principal Dr. Mahipatsinh Chavda and the guidance of faculty members, ensuring smooth arrangements and effective learning outcomes.
